Unlock the Benefits of
the ADTA Premiere Professional Certification Program: Intermediate Division
Are you ready to move up into the Intermediate level of the ADTA Certification Program? You’ve mastered the basics, you have a solid understanding of the Junior Program, and you’re ready to move up to the next level – you’re ready for the Premiere Professional Certification Program.
The next step in ADTA certification, that takes you from established to professional, getting surprising results, working with every body type, using the Intermediate set technique system.
At the ADTA, we've developed the "Trick Families" formula as a structured approach to organizing and teaching the tricks outlined in our syllabus. This method empowers our certifying teachers to effectively instruct their students in the studio while managing diverse ages and abilities within the same class.
Many Acro teachers encounter challenges in maintaining class control, particularly as students progress at different rates. This difference in abilities often leads to chaos and frustration for both teachers and students. The Trick Families Formula addresses this issue by offering a systematic solution.
Instead of a linear approach where all students work on the same trick regardless of their skill level, Trick Families allows teachers to categorize tricks into families. For example, if a class comprises beginners to pre-intermediate students and the focus is on Handstands, teachers can tap into the "Handstands Family". Within this family, each student can work on a variation of the Handstand suitable for their level, whether it's practicing against a wall, in the center of the floor, or practicing different variations.
This approach enables teachers to provide individualized attention and corrections while creating a conducive learning environment. Students receive the support they need without feeling left behind or overwhelmed, leading to faster progress and improved technique. By organizing every trick in the syllabus into Trick Families, we've revolutionized the way teachers manage Acro Dance classes, fostering better results and a more rewarding teaching experience.

Embarking on the journey towards ADTA certification involves three distinct levels: "Premiere Certified", "Premiere Professional", and "Premiere Master".
Each level of certification is a practical, online course typically spanning one year. While most teachers begin at the "Premiere Certified" level, experienced instructors working with intermediate or advanced students may progress through multiple levels in a year. Throughout the certification process, teachers engage in real-world application by implementing the syllabus in their studio classes, supported by an "implementation class" for practice.
Teachers submit video recordings of their classes to the ADTA official evaluator for feedback, applying corrections and guidance until completion. Certification is granted upon approval of all video submissions, with the average duration being one dance season. Beginners may take up to two years, while experienced Acro teachers often progress more swiftly.
Upon enrollment, participants typically spend 3-5 hours watching theory videos and preparing classroom tools. Subsequently, they dedicate 1-2 hours monthly to familiarize themselves with the lesson plan before teaching it to their students for a minimum of four weeks.
It's important to note that student progression varies, with individuals taking anywhere from one to three years to pass each division. However, on average, teachers achieve "Premiere Certified" status within a year.
Furthermore, remaining in the Premiere program doesn't require certification; members can access syllabi, content, and community without certifying if they choose to. Additional years in the Premiere Junior program incur a $100 membership fee. Similarly, many certifying teachers opt for a gap year between certifications to ensure all students are ready to advance together.
The journey to "Premiere Master" certification typically spans around six years, emphasizing the importance of learning Acro Dance at an appropriate pace – neither too slow nor too fast.
In essence, ADTA certification offers a structured pathway for professional development, ensuring teachers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel in Acro Dance instruction while accommodating individual learning rhythms and studio dynamics.
Holly Rohde: Dance Studio Owner and Teacher
This is the program that Holly Rohde has used to double her studio enrollment each year since opening.
My studio went with the Premiere Comprehensive Program because it seemed like an was an all-inclusive program for us. Being a dancer that did not come from an Acro Dance background, I really wanted to go with an option that was going to offer me everything that I needed to get a full program up and running.
Everything is put together really well, the lesson plans and the syllabus - there is really nothing left out; it was a no-brainer for me to go with the Premiere Program for my studio.
When I first signed up I was nervous that I wasn’t going to be able to effectively deliver – but the more I worked through it, the more I realized that it was even better than I thought it was, because it was so nicely laid out and it boosted my confidence as I started working from the very start with my students.
